Carpe Diem live-aboard : Maldives
M/V Carpe Diem is a 35m luxury liveaboard vessel, built in 2008, with a separate fully equipped diving dhoni. Cabins and facilities are spread over four decks and with a maximum capacity of 20 guests, there is ample space to enjoy the peace and tranquility of the Indian Ocean.
The Maldives is a chain of 26 atolls, comprising 1,200 islands, lying 600km Southwest of Sri Lanka at the Southern tip of India.

Welcome to MV Carpe Diem, a unique liveaboard holiday offering you a huge range of activities while touring the beautiful atolls of the Maldives. When not scuba diving, try out Salsa dancing in the evening or do a round of skiing on our jetski/waterski, enjoy the sea breeze while windsurfing, catch your own fish while fishing in the traditional Maldivian way or simply snorkeling, swimming, sightseeing and sunbathing! Cruising in the Maldives has never been so diverse and complete.
Diving
The Carpe Diem is accompanied by an 18 metre separate diving dhoni (tender boat), especially designed and built for this purpose. The dive dhoni is equipped with two fresh water showers & toilet, 3 compressors (1 Bauer & 2 Coltri) and a Nitrox Nuvair system. All the diving equipment is kept on the dhoni, giving more space to the Carpe Diem itself plus enhanced safety. Additional benefits include fast & safe transfers to the dive sites and extra comfort when putting on your gear.
Cabins
Carpe Diem has 10 comfortable cabins of different standards divided over 3 decks. The different cabin types are suite (1), deluxe (1), high standard (2) and standard (6). All cabins have individually controlled AC, safety deposit boxes and their own private bathroom with toilet and hot water shower. The electricity voltage on board is of 220V and the plugs are 3 pin US type.
Suite: The very spacious suite cabin is over 20m² in size and is located on the upper deck. The suite has a king size bed, a wide flat screen TV plus DVD/MP3 player, mini fridge and an ample closet plus storage space. The five windows give a beautiful views of the sea.
Deluxe cabin: Opposite the suite on the upper deck is another big cabin, the deluxe cabin, with a queen size double bed, flat screen TV plus DVD/MP3 player and three windows overlooking the Maldives blue waters.
High Standard cabin: The Carpe Diem has two high standard cabins, which are a little smaller than the deluxe cabin on the upper deck and located on the main deck with queen size double beds and TV plus DVD/MP3 players.
Standard cabin: A total of 6 standard cabins are located on the cabin deck below the main deck. 4 of these standard cabins are very spacious having a queen double bed and bunk bed and therefore can take triple occupancy. The 2 other standard cabins each have a twin bed and bunk bed and can only take double occupancy. All standard cabins have portholes.
Food and Drink
Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served in a comfortable dining area, with a splendid view of the ocean. The food served onboard the Carpe Diem liveaboard is of excellent quality. You will enjoy a wide variety of European, international & local cuisine all freshly prepared by our experienced local chef - with Maldivian, Thai and Indian cuisine being his specialties.
Our wine menu is designed to ensure that you enjoy the best the New World wineries have to offer as well as the elegance and charm of the Old World chateaux. Our wine portfolio is structured to complement the uniqueness of all the local and contemporary culinary creations. In addition our selection of world-class cocktails offer you an array of tantalizing aromas and flavours that will get you dancing into the early morning hours.
Activities available
Jet-Ski and Water-Skiing: Apart from diving, the Carpe Diem offers fun joy rides on our Jet ski (the Jet ski can hold 3 persons) cruising at your own speed. You can also try water skiing or have a go in our tube-ring which is towed behind the jet ski.
Sports Fishing: The Carpe Diem is able to offer is sports fishing by private speed boat. When booked in advance, the speed boat can be rented by the hour or per day to go trawling, big game fishing or night fishing. The boat can take maximum 8 persons and includes soft drinks and fishing gear.
Salsa Dancing: As part of your 7 day trip, the Carpe Diem crew will be organising a Latin night introducing you to Salsa dancing by means of a basic salsa workshop.
Surfing: We have the possibility of catering for surfers during the surfing season.
Sunbathing & Relaxing: The Carpe Diem has a 115 square metre sun deck, which is partially shaded and has a sitting area in the middle with some lounge chairs - the ideal place to catch that perfect tan.
