12 day/11 night 'Chill-out & Tour' combo.

Day 1 - Depart Royal Jordanian scheduled flight from Heathrow at approx. 17:00hrs. Arrive AMMAN approx. 23:30 hrs. Transfer to your hotel in AMMAN for 3 nights including breakfast. (dinner can be added).

Day 2 - Breakfast followed by a full day trip to the Roman city of JERASH - one of the best preserved Roman cities in the world and continue to the historic AJLUN CASTLE with its stunning views.

Day 3 - Breakfast followed by an excursion to the baptism site of St John at BETHANY, on the banks of the River Jordan. Continue on to the DEAD SEA - the lowest point on earth. Don't forget your swimming costume for your float in the Dead Sea!

Day 4 - Depart Amman for a trip along the Kings Highway visiting MADABA (famous for its mosaics) and MOUNT NEBO - with it's biblical links to Moses & fantastic views over the JORDAN VALLEY. Continue on to KERAK CASTLE and then finally your day ends in Petra. Overnight with dinner and breakfast.

Day 5 - Depart after breakfast for the magnificent ancient city of PETRA. Your day includes an excursion into the famous 'rose red city' of Petra including guide, short horse ride to siq entrance and lunch. After excursion transfer on to AQABA and check-in to your Aqaba hotel for 7 nights including breakfast.

Days 6-10 - 5 days in AQABA for relaxing by the hotel pool, exploring the market, the ancient ruins of Aqaba, snorkeling or Scuba Diving. Learn to dive courses available or guided dives for experienced divers.

Day 11 - Morning: Free in Aqaba - explore or relax. Afternoon: Half day excursion to WADI RUM, the awe inspiring desert region made famous by Lawrence of Arabia. A fascinating glimpse into the life of the Bedouin. Car to Dici Village and transfer to 4x4 vehicle, for approx. 1 hour Wadi Rum desert trek. (A full day tour is also available with lunch and camel trek instead of 4x4; +£39).

Day 12 - After breakfast, early road transfer to Amman Airport for your midday Royal Jordanian flight to London. Arrive Heathrow at about 16:00 hrs.

Staying 3 nights in Amman, 1 night in Petra and 2 nights in Aqaba.

This is a flexible programme that combines 5-star hotel accommodation and HERTZ car rental. The hotels that we have chosen for this programme have been carefully selected to give you an excellent 'drive away point' that will enable you to cover the country and visit all the major archaeological, geographical, historical and biblical sites in 10 days. Each hotel is unique - different in situation, atmosphere and size, but each offers 5 star service so you can guarantee a comfortable, even luxurious, break between drives with excellent international cuisine.

Our sample itinerary can be shortened or lengthened to suit your holiday plans. If you follow our recommendation you will start in the city, radiate out and South to the edge of the unique Dead Sea, continue to the magnificent 'hidden city' of Petra and, finally, relax with year-round sunshine and calm, blue sea in Aqaba.

Day 1 - Fly on Royal Jordanian Airlines scheduled service from Heathrow to AMMAN, check in to the Grand Hyatt Hotel. (car optional).
Day 2 - Spend the day in Amman, visiting the markets, Roman theatre and the museums. Spend a second night in AMMAN. (car optional).
Day 3 - Collect your Hertz hire car. Drive North to explore JERASH, AJLUN and surrounding area. Return to Amman for your third night.
Day 4 - Drive South down the Jordan valley to the Movenpick Dead Sea Resort. Visit Mount Nebo and lunch in Madaba, enjoy the scenery at the heart of 'The Holy Land'. Check in at the Movenpick Dead Sea Resort for two nights. (return hire car).
Day 5 - Relax at the Dead Sea Resort. Enjoy a sauna, Jacuzzi, massage or just float in the Dead Sea.
Day 6 - Collect your Hertz car. Drive South-East towards Petra. Visit Wadi Mujib, the Dana Nature Reserve, Shobak and Kerak Castles. Check in at the Petra Movenpick Hotel for two nights. (return car).
Day 7 - Explore the ancient rose-red city of PETRA. Overnight at Petra Movenpick.
Day 8 - Collect Hertz car once again and drive South to Aqaba. Visit Wadi Rum on the way. Check in to the luxurious Aqaba Movenpick for the rest of your holiday.
Day 9 - Explore the town of Aqaba, or relax on the shore of the Red Sea. Extra days can be added, for diving or relaxing in Aqaba. You may return your car if flying from Aqaba, or keep it for another day and drive back to Amman.
Day 10 - Fly or drive to Amman airport. Your flight from Amman to London arrives at Heathrow late afternoon.
