offer two dive centres in the resort of Marsalforn, which is on the North of the island of Gozo. Atlantis Divers and Gozo Aqua Sports. For clients staying in our self catering apartments, we usually recommend Gozo
Aqua Sports dive centre. Both centres offer excellent facilities
and are of the highest standard.
Introduction
to Diving in Gozo:
Steep,
rugged cliffs, caves, valleys and picturesque rock formations dominate
most of the Maltese Islands' dramatic coastline. Below the surface of
the water, the scenery is as breathtaking as above with the single difference
that divers have got the exclusivity of visiting it.
The seas around Gozo are virtually tide less throughout the year and
underwater currents are rare, especially during the summer months. Dramatic
underwater rock formations including spectacular caves, caverns, drop-offs,
reef structures, gullies, chimneys, tunnels and arches and
exceptional all year round visibility combine to make Gozo a unique
Mediterranean diving destination. Gozo offers some world-famous dive
sites such as Cathedral Cave, the Inland Sea and the Azure
Window & Blue Hole.

Aquatours have been working with Gozo Aqua Sports for over
11 years, although the centre is one of Gozo's first, having open in 1981.
The centre has gained PADI 5-star IDC status and was in fact the
first dive centre in Gozo to achieve this award. The dive centre
is located in the harbour town of Marsalforn, and is within 5-10 minutes
walk from the accommodation that we offer and less than 5 minutes walk
from the waterfront. Ideally suited for quick and easy access to all of
the best dive sites, the dive centre operates all year round, 7 days a
week. |

Learning to Dive

Gozo Aqua Sports is a PADI 5 star training centre with very experienced
resident instructors. For those qualified divers wishing to continue their

are very happy to cater for disabled divers and have fully trained IAHD
Instructors. Equipment

Boat
Excursions
Diving is
generally done from the shore, with most sites offering fairly easy access
to the water. However, trips are regularly organised to the more remote
dive sites and places of interest which are only accessible by boat from
Gozo. The full day boat excursion to the island of Comino, will be enjoyed
by both divers and non-divers. The Comino Caves, renowned for their myriad
of fish, is a popular but unspoilt dive and well with a visit if you have
the opportunity. |

Atlantis
Diving Centre
Irrespective of your qualification, experience or whether you
are a beginner, Atlantis Diving Centre has got a suitable program for you.
All accompanied dives are led by instructors. During courses we have access
to both the Atlantis Hotel's indoor and outdoor pools, making it ideal for
training. Diving around Comino, Malta, on offshore reefs, or underneath
high cliffs is done from 'Atlantis Divers', a solid, powerful, two-engine,
purposely built fibreglass boat owned and well-maintained by the diving
centre itself. A few dives ought to be done from the shore, such as night
dives, beginner dives, and other dives whose main fascination actually emerges
when one starts from the shore; thus in such cases we use four-wheel-drive
vehicles for transport. |

From
the dive base, situated at the Atlantis Hotel, one can hire any diving equipment
required. Only steel tanks are used, thus reducing considerably the amount
of weight carried on the weight belt.
The Atlantis
Dive Shop, set within the dive base itself, sells a vast choice of diving
equipment at very competitive prices. Other services offered are the servicing
of Scubapro and Mares equipment, air fills from our own compressors and
air banks, transfers, excursions, car and jeep hire. |

Unaccompanied Package includes the diving permit, weight and UNLIMITED
air tank fills (10 or 12 litre only - supplement for 15 litre

Jeep. The dive centre will be on hand for advice. This option
can be good for groups and clubs where costs must be kept to a
minimum.

Navigation, b) Night Diving and c) Deep Diving. The Elective Dives
can be chosen from: Boat Diving, Multilevel Diving, Search and Recovery,
