Lahami Bay Beach Resort is the Southernmost beach resort in the Egyptian Red Sea, tucked away on its own protected bay adorned with the South Red Sea's untouched turquoise lagoons, extended sandy beaches and intact corals.

Harmonizing with the timeless panorama of the colourful mountains in the background, the resort is set near the ancient town of Berenice some 115 km (75 miles) south of the Red Sea town and airport of Marsa Alam. Conceived to meet a wide variety of guests' demands, the resort offers 5-star luxury in a casually elegant atmosphere.

The resort is about 1.5 hours drive south from Marsa Alam Airport, through the marvelous white sands and mangrove forests of Wadi El Gimal Natural Park.

Strung around luxuriant gardens and pools with waterfalls and fountains, the architecture of the resort was conceived to harmonize with its pristine natural surroundings, reflecting an infusion of two styles - Oriental Maritime and Mediterranean. Whitewashed facades are covered by strings of coloured Bougainvillea borne by wooden pergolas are silhouetted by gables tiled with terra cotta.

Lahami Bay rooms are some  of the largest resort rooms on the Red Sea. The 220 rooms are grouped in two-floor buildings which cluster around beautiful gardens to provide a sea view. A wide choice of restaurants offer a wide range of enjoyable dining experiences. The finest ingredients are sourced from all over Egypt, while fresh fish and seafood come directly from the neighbouring waters. Food is prepared in a variety of ways to please all tastes.

The resort's main restaurant, The Seven Seas, presents sumptuous breakfast buffets and theme dinner buffets with culinary delights from all over the world.

The Sea Breeze Restaurant offers a fine selection of fish and seafood, and the Berenice restaurant offers exquisite Mediterranean cuisine.

Casual dining by the sea can be enjoyed at the Sail Away bar and the Mangroves Café, directly on the waterfront. Exotics Cocktails, soothing refreshments and aromatic infusions are served at other several bars and lounges.

Kids Club at Lahami Bay has a large indoors entertainment area, a swimming pool with its own waterfall and a mini swimming pool for toddlers. With the help of its dedicated staff, children are invited to make new friends from around the world, while sharing play and pleasant activities.

Kids from four to twelve years old are accompanied to enjoy the warm shallow safe waters and the sandy beach. Lots of natural wonders are there to explore: hermit crabs, shells and countless colourful fish. Indoor activities include arts and crafts as well as  organized games. Bubbling diving courses for kids as of eight years old are available at the Diving Centre. Children under the age of four are welcome to the Kids Club in the company of a parent.

Sports facilities at Lahami Bay include two floodlit tennis courts, an air-conditioned squash court and table tennis, as well as an area for volleyball on the beach.

The air-conditioned Fitness Centre features a Gymnasium equipped to the top standards and a massage facility.

Enjoyable hours can be spent playing Billiards or table games at the Games Lounge. The Library is a quiet retreat with an interesting collection of books in different languages.

The Boutique offers a wide variety of items, including casual ware, books, and a selection of fine traditional artifacts.

The Windsurfing Centre is situated to the south of the resort on its own stretch of  beach. All equipment is top quality and maintained to the highest standards, including Naish windsurf boards as well as Neilpryde Sails.

Instruction for beginners is available. Whether a beginner or a more experienced wind surfer, the vast protected coral free basin of Lahami Bay, together with excellent wind patterns, offer some of the finest conditions for windsurfing on the Red Sea.

Scuba Diving at Lahami Bay
Directly facing the reefs of the Fury Shoals, Lahami Bay is by far the nearest resort to the world class diving highlights of the South Red Sea, including Zabargad island, Rocky island and St. John's reefs.

Aquatours offer Orca Dive Centre - based 5km up the coast from Lahami Bay hotel. This centre will pick up/drop off (5 minute transfer) and offers good value guided boat diving packages.

It is from the Orca Dive Club Hamata, that is located within the Zabargad Beach Resort, that such famous reefs as Shaab Maksur, Shaab Claudio, Shaab Sataya and Abu Diab are quickly and easily accessible by boat. Not only are the off-shore reefs fantastic, but the Orca Dive Club's House Reef, with its 10km length and max. depth of 60m, can be dived from 6am until 11pm giving you ample opportunity to explore the virgin sites of the south.
The resort lies 5kms. south of the small bedouin town of Hamata and it is from the jetty in Hamata that the dive boats depart. The dive club organises a free shuttle service to the jetty (transfer time approx. 5mins).

You will find a fleet of 3 dedicated hard boats in operation at the Orca Dive Club Hamata. The highly experienced and friendly crew who have been working together with us for years guarantee to take you safely and comfortably to only the best dive sites. All boats are equipped with the necessary safety equipment inline with international standards. You will find oxygen, first-aid, VHF marine radios, life jackets and state of the art communication and navigational aids on-board.

The Orca Dive Club Hamata House Reef is a very special diving experience. Rugged coral blocks, little canyons, cuts and caves can be found on the fringe reef with colourful reef fish and an abundance of flora and fauna. Here you can encounter the entire food chain, starting from tiniest animals up to big pelagics on the prowl for prey. To all of them the eroded reef edges offers shelter and a safe resting place. The House Reef offers perfect conditions for night dives and for teaching beginners. Entry on to the House Reef is easy, over our private jetty with equipment assembly area. There is no need to worry about carrying your equipment onto the jetty as our resident donkey "Prince Ali" is happy to lighten your load. All that is left for you to do is put on your tank and take the plunge. The House Reef is open for diving from 6am until 11pm daily. This site which can be reached only from the shore is an attractive and a real alternative to any diver wanting to see a different side of the Red Sea.
