The TURTLE BAY DIVING CENTRE is located on one of the most unspoilt water reserves in the world; Watamu National Marine Park. An area where fishing has been banned for over 25 years. Manta Rays, Whale Sharks, Dolphins and Turtles are not uncommon encounters. The diving centre, established in 1970, is very proud of its accident-free record, and safety standards are high. Diving is conducted in small groups of 4 divers per guide. Staff include two PADI instructors and six experienced guides. Diving is conducted twice daily, 7 days a week. Night dives can be arranged depending on the conditions. The Dive Centre is open all year round, although best conditions are between mid October & April. Due to adverse weather, diving on the outer reef cannot be guaranteed between May and early October. There are 20 dive sites within 10-35 minutes (by boat) from the dive centre. The reef offers some of the richest variety of fishes and corals in the world. Inside the lagoon, is an ideal site of novices, snorkelers and spectacular night dives. |
