Introduction to Captain Don's Habitat Bonaire:
Bonaire is located in the Southern Caribbean about 50 miles off the coast of Venezuela. It lies outside the hurricane belt, and receives almost continuous sunshine. Captain Don's Habitat is located 10 km from the Flamingo International Airport.

All the waters around Bonaire form part of the Bonaire Marine Park. The south western coast is protected by a natural bay, and offers great diving and swimming conditions with very little waves or currents. The rugged north eastern coast, on the other hand, bears the burden of the trade winds and waves.

In the early days of recreational diving, Captain Don Stewart set out to build a true haven for divers. His philosophy was simple; build a dive shop with rooms and provide as much freedom so guest divers can dive their own profile in a friendly relaxed atmosphere. In 1976 his dream became reality when he founded Captain Don's Habitat. Back then it was just a cluster of bungalows built around a dive shop overlooking the beautiful Caribbean Sea. But more importantly, some of the most pristine coral formations and a bonanza of colourful marine life are just a few fin kicks away...

Through the years, Captain Don's Habitat evolved into a world renowned resort catering for today's most demanding divers. Set amidst lush green gardens with colourful decor and landscaping, it offers the comfort of 3 deluxe varieties of accommodation, fresh water pool, great dining and entertainment, and of course superb Caribbean diving, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Capt. Don’s Habitat dive operation is centrally located within the resort complex, with easy access from all rooms. There are three 1-tank boat departures daily and scheduled boat night dives to over 50 sites. Each mooring buoy is limited to 1 boat so you’ll have the reef all to yourself.

Diving Freedom has always been the concept at Capt. Don’s Habitat. 24 hours a day, 365 days a year with no rush or anxiety. Over 50 world class dives are within a 15 minute boat ride, or take a giant stride off our divers-only pier and you’re already looking at clusters of starlet coral, surrounded by colourful wrasse and gobies, and the drop-off starts in 30 feet. Shore diving is a must at Habitat, and around the island of Bonaire, rated as the top shore diving destination in the world! Following accepted safe diving practices, you can grab a tank and go... whenever you want!

The Habitat Dive Operation is a PADI 5-star Instructor Development Centre and TDI/SDI Instruction Centre equipped to handle all of your certification needs including Rebreathers and Tri-Mix. Choose from over 20 specialty courses! All equipment is available for rent or sale in the dive shop which also has those last minute items you may have forgotten. The Photo Centre provides guests with a full selection of the latest in photo and video equipment for rent or sale, as well as instruction and film processing.

The Dive Centre also rents Trek Mountain Bikes and Ocean Kayaks for the adventuresome.

Bonaire National Marine Park Rules:
All the beautiful waters around Bonaire are designated as a Marine Park. Anchoring, spear fishing, touching the corals, and removing anything from the reef is prohibited. A $25.00 US fee allows access to the Marine Park for the calendar year as well as entrance to the Washington-Slagbaai National Park.

Habitat Bonaire has a wide range of different room types to suit your desires and budget. Below you’ll find a description of each type of room. All rooms are decorated in a light island style for a relaxing, breezy atmosphere and include daily maid and linen service.

HABITAT COTTAGE - 2 bedroom
Habitat Cottages sleep 4 people comfortably. The cottages are nestled in the gardens, along a shaded path graced with colourful tropical flora. They come equipped with a full kitchen, bathroom with shower, spacious living area, 2 bedrooms with A/C, covered outdoor patio for your relaxation and also have in-room telephones and cable TV.

OASIS COTTAGE - 2 bedroom
The Oasis cottages also sleep 4 people comfortably. Built around a fresh water pond, these larger units are set up the same as the Habitat cottages with the exception that each bedroom has its own bathroom.

They are complimented with tropical furniture, fully equipped kitchen, in-room telephones, cable TV, large wrap around covered patio area (great for relaxing and entertaining friends). The Oasis Cottages are fully air conditioned.

DELUXE OCEAN VIEW
- 1 bedroom
The Deluxe Ocean View rooms are all air conditioned with a lovely view of the swimming pool and the sea. Each room offers 2 queen beds, desk, cable TV, refrigerator, coffee maker, private bath, telephone and secluded balcony or patio with comfortable furniture. These rooms are also within range of our Wi-Fi Internet Hotspot.

VILLA STUDIO - 1 bedroom with kitchen/living area.
Villa Studios come complete with a full kitchen, bathroom, living room/bedroom, covered patio and are fully air-conditioned. Each is tastefully furnished in Caribbean style and each has ceiling fans and cable TV.

VILLA SUITE - 1 bedroom & separate living room.
Villa Suites are as same as Villa Studios except that they are larger and the bedroom is a separate room from the kitchen/living room area.

VILLA OCEAN VIEW - 1 bedroom. Cheapest rooms.
Villa Ocean View rooms are furnished with a dresser, mirror, chair, refrigerator, bathroom with shower and some of our Villa Ocean View rooms have a balcony with patio furniture. All but one of our Villa Ocean View rooms are on the second floor of the Ocean View Deluxe Rooms and all provide an excellent view of the ocean.

Rum Runners Bar & Restaurant, Pizza Temple or the Deco-Stop Bar. The experienced chefs and waiters in this idyllic setting ensure that all meals are a true pleasure.

We offer an international menu, daily local specials, and our Pizza Temple with authentic Italian thin crust pizza and a wide assortment of specialty pizzas and toppings.
Breakfast is served from 7 am to 10 am so whether you’re an early riser ready to catch a morning dive or prefer a more leisurely approach to your vacation you’ll get your eggs cooked fresh to order. The buffet includes a wide array of fresh tropical fruits, breads, and cereals. Lunch is enjoyed between 11:30 am and 2 pm with delicious salads, sandwiches, burgers, and snacks. Evenings, relax to another perfect sunset and enjoy a la carte dining Tuesday through Sunday.

Prices are all per person, excluding flights.

Meal plans:    FB (full breakfast):   £8 per person per day.

                    MAP (half board):    £23 per person per day.
                    FAP (full board):      £32 per person per day.
Child policy:  Max. of 2 children sharing room with 2 paying adults. Children under 12 years are no charge on room only basis (not valid for Villa Ocean View or Villa Studio).
